Randy Olson is a scientist-turned-filmmaker and science communicator know for developing the “And, But, Therefore” storytelling style and the “Story Circles” narrative approach. Both techniques help scientists tell stories about their research in a way that makes their science more compelling to other scientists, funders, and science enthusiasts of all backgrounds.
Randy is offering a public “Demo” lecture on Thursday, September 15, followed by two three-hour workshops on campus on Friday, September 16 to teach Yale students and faculty this storytelling narrative approach. Participants can choose from either a morning session or afternoon session when they register.
Participants are also requested to attend the Thursday, September 15 lecture: 4:30pm in Burke Auditorium, 195 Prospect Street.
9/16 Morning session: Approximately 9am-12pm (lunch available after the session)
9/16 Afternoon session: Approximately 1pm-4pm (lunch available before the session)
The workshop is open to Yale graduate student, postdoc, and faculty scientists. Both workshops are currently full, but you can email yibs@yale.edu to be placed on a waitlist.
